I really loved this story! These two were the perfect couple。 They were complete opposites but complemented each other perfectly。 The banter was a lot of fun。 The author was able to grab my attention right from the start and never let go。 There were parts of the story that I felt went on longer than necessary or parts that didn't compliment the story。 But overall, I really enjoyed the book! I'd definitely say this would be the easiest to read as a complete stand-alone because, unfortunately it features the rest of the guys the least。 。。。more

When secrets are exposed will Kate and Walker be able to handle the fall?OMG!!! This book was so incredibly good and I seriously didn't want it to end - ever!!!Walker was one of those characters who are deemed the "bad guy" but you know right away he is keeping his cards close as he is closing everyone off from his emotions and everything that he has gone through in the past。 If Walker doesn't let anyone in then he doesn't risk losing them either。 He was a little cocky but that was another way to keep his walls in place and I think he had gone through so much that he just hated how he was deemed the bad guy yet his teammate, Penn Cutler, was constantly showing up to the field hungover and nothing happened to him。Kate was awesome although a little naïve in what she thought she could accomplish with Walker。 Her friendship with Dan was interesting as it felt like he was interested in her but she only viewed him as a friend。 Kate had gone through her own loss in the past and it really made her chase after her own dreams。The chemistry between Kate and Walker was through the roof and OMG!!!! The dirty talk between these two made me turn up the fan to the highest level to cool down!! The two walked a super fine line as they both knew what they wanted but also knew that they each risked their jobs if they were to act on it。When I heard Walker's story I completely understood why he hated Penn so much。 Yet I still felt like there was something missing with the communication between him and Penn。 I felt bad for both Walker and Kate when they knew that their jobs were most important and how much it impacted both of them。 I wasn't surprised when Walker told Roark what was going on and I loved what Roark eventually did。My heart did break for Walker when he put something huge together and how that changes everything for him and what he wanted Roark to do for him。 I completely understood and knew why he felt betrayed。 I was a little worried towards the end with what was going on and must admit that I was freaking。 I was shocked with a major apology that came and the peace that came with it! The very end made me do a huge happy dance and I was sooo happy with how everything ended up! I'm hoping we get a closer look at Penn or Ryot next!! 。。。more

As with all of Meghan Quinn’s books this one was wonderful。 I will say this wasn’t as funny as her other books but it had its moments。 I think this one, her main character, Walker, didn’t really lend to the zingers that Meghan Quinn usually has。 Were there zingers that have you laugh? Yes yes there are just not as many as you normally see from her。 The socks deal with Kate was a hoot for example。Walker is a grumpalump。 He is smart, kind, and generous but a grump。 He is very self loathing as well。 He holds guilt and it isn’t until Kate and her love and understanding that he is able to forgive himself and release the guilt。 But he is a grump。 He is a grump who doesn’t do as the Bobbies want。 No one really sees the real person。 Again he is a very sweet guy just doesn’t show it to just anyone。 He believes his community service shouldn’t be something to boast because that isn’t genuine。 His community service he does is ones that is near and dear to him and something he believes in and that is genuine not something to show off and be forced on him。 In a way he is right, do we really know if those players are doing the service because they want to or because of the publicity they garner? So he makes great points but still a grump。 He works hard and is lost in finding joy again。 And this is when Kate comes in。 This man you can’t help but love with his grumpy ways。 He is honest and straight up with people but fair, kind and real。Kate, who is an eternal optimist it seems。 She is funloving and sweet。 Her best friend isn’t exactly the nicest guy in my book, although she seems him differently because of all they have been through。 Kate who has to help Walker clean up his image and finds him to be grumpy as well。 But she sees beneath that grumpiness and gets to know who he is。 He starts to let her in and what she sees she falls in love with。 They both fall in love and it is sweet。 We see the attraction leap off the page。 They understand each other but also the banter between them is amazing。 Only problem? They can’t be together due to their jobs。 And they try to respect this but the attraction is too much。 Walker needs Kate to ground him and she needs him to support her when she needs it。 They are each others support and rock。 I love Walker’s way of protecting her even from her bestie when she doesn’t see she needs it。Her bestie, Penn, is a real wingding。 He has his own demons that haunt him and make him not a nice guy。 Him and Walker clash and with good reason。 He eggs on Walker and does this to mask his issues。 At the ball, that was the final straw and Walker’s as well。 Walker’s decisions are made out of sadness and love。 You just root for Walker but cry because he finally has joy again and finds forgiveness in himself and loses love in the process。 You root for him to get a happily ever with Kate。Overall, the book is entertaining and little angst。。You fall in love with Kate and Walker as they fall in love but struggle with this because of their jobs。 You root for them as they deal with a horrible bestie and the situation they are in 。 You keep your fingers crossed and hope as they sacrifice for what is best for the other and try to go on and can’t。 And you smile when the love wins。 A great book you won’t be able to put down。 。。。more

My goodness do these two set the pages on fire! What I loved was that Walker comes across as a tough guy, disinterested, cold, uncaring but really he is anything but to the people that matter。 He lost someone that meant the world to him and has never forgiven himself。 Those demons have a massive role to play and when he lets Kate in my heart melted into a puddle。 Of course it wouldn't be a Meghan Quinn book without a worthy break up along the way and the twist for this one blew my mind!!!! All the emoji's and gifs I have in my repertoire came out to play when I needed to vent to a friend who was reading too。 I did not see it coming but I loved reading what followed to reach the HEA I wanted for Walker and Kate。 The Perfect Catch flowed so well, I loved every minute of it。 I did listen to the audiobook alongside reading the eBook and I have to applaud Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin (she made me love Kate even more) for doing an amazing job portraying Walker and Kate。 Their performances reflected what I read and more。 The emotions from Walker especially as somewhat of a tortured hero were vivid and switching that over to the dominant hero he is when he has Kate in his sights well。。。。。。。HOT!Whether you are a reader or a listener, this book has something for everyone。 Kate as a heroine is so likable and real and I loved how she stood up to Walker and persisted when it came to getting to know the man behind the public front he wears as armour。 A fantastic book all round! 。。。more

Walker and Kate were all tension, angst, heat and yearning。 The best parts of forbidden romance that had my body on edge from all the deliciousness。 Walker starts out as a hot headed unlikeable guy。 He is clearly holding a grudge and on a downward spiral。 Kate is new to the Bobbies and determined to succeed at her new job which has her coordinating community event and promotional opportunities for the Bobbies。 This puts Walker directly in her path and instead of bowing to his curmudgeony behavio Walker and Kate were all tension, angst, heat and yearning。 The best parts of forbidden romance that had my body on edge from all the deliciousness。 Walker starts out as a hot headed unlikeable guy。 He is clearly holding a grudge and on a downward spiral。 Kate is new to the Bobbies and determined to succeed at her new job which has her coordinating community event and promotional opportunities for the Bobbies。 This puts Walker directly in her path and instead of bowing to his curmudgeony behavior she gives as good as he does and it starts to wake him up。 This story is a slow burn with delicious tension。 They want each other, understand and respect the consequences of what fraternizing would mean for their careers, but just can't stay away。 Holy hotness, the bedroom scenes had me panting and sweating and fanning myself with my kindle。 Both Kate and Walker have dirty minds and dirty mouths and some really dirty texts。 One of the things I liked about this workplace romance is that the consequences for both Kate and Walker are equal。 There is not an unequal distribution of power, even though he is a baseball player and she is office staff, they are both risking their jobs and they just can't resist。 I loved that these characters didn't make dumb decisions no predictable plot holes and there is towards the end that had me literally exclaiming "Holy plot twist Batman" in the middle of the night scaring my husband awake。 I did NOT see it coming!! (good job Meghan!!) This audio book is narrated by Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin and the casting was perfection。 Jason Clarke was all sorts of growly grumpy deliciousness and Vanessa Edwin is a strong female lead who also does a great male voice。 5 outstanding stars from me this book was a home run, knocked it out of the park all the punny baseball puns you can think of。I received an ARC and ALC of this book and voluntarily give my review。 。。。more

My Review (ARC provided)https://triciaciak。blogspot。com/Five Stars! The Perfect Catch was just that, perfect! Walker was pure perfection and Kate was such a uniquely written heroine。 She was strong and self-confident, didn’t let much get to her but the Walker was the one thing that broke her strong composure。 It showed how human she was。 I love that about Meghan’s writing。 Walker was so closed off and in the beginning, I just knew he had a backstory that would explain the way he was。 I knew I lik My Review (ARC provided)https://triciaciak。blogspot。com/Five Stars! The Perfect Catch was just that, perfect! Walker is the catcher of the Chicago Bobbies and has an image problem with the public and Kate is the PR manager that works with him to clean up his act。 Kate doesn’t take take any of Walker’s grumpiness and is able to get through to him and break down his walls。 Their friendship and attraction grow thought out the story but they can’t be together due to the team having a no fraternization rule。 Walker and Kate’s story was sexy, emotional and I loved the build up between them。 I could not get en Walker is the catcher of the Chicago Bobbies and has an image problem with the public and Kate is the PR manager that works with him to clean up his act。 Kate doesn’t take take any of Walker’s grumpiness and is able to get through to him and break down his walls。 Their friendship and attraction grow thought out the story but they can’t be together due to the team having a no fraternization rule。 Walker and Kate’s story was sexy, emotional and I loved the build up between them。 I could not get enough of this story, Meghan did a great job of making me fall in love with these characters。 Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke did an incredible job with bring Kate and Walker to life, they captured their emotions perfectly。 。。。more
